I’ll just jump right in, no great preamble, to hell with introductions… I’ll get straight to it. My name is Vicky, and I am a HAPPY marketing coordinator at Openmind Technologies.
Why happy? Actually, a better question is, why not?
If I can be honest with you, I haven’t always been happy.
I’m curious: Are you happy in your job now? If you hesitated, even for a millisecond, let me have just five minutes of your time, and maybe my story will strike a chord.
Let’s get this straight: I have always had great bosses, and the companies where I’ve worked are still great places that I don’t hesitate to recommend to others. Without their valuable teachings, I would not be where I am today. #grateful.
But, you know, you can be treated well and still be unhappy. I know, because that was me. Some people really like their job’s responsibilities, but not so much their team. For others, office life is fabulous, but their responsibilities are meh. It isn’t easy to find the right balance, I know.
Bit by bit, without noticing it, you get the sneaking suspicion that you’re not 100% at the top of your game. A little out of step. Maybe you’re there now too…
I know that nothing is perfect, BUT, some companies have more solid roots than others, and you’ll see that the Openmind crew is one of them. I always try to avoid this silly play on words, but I can’t do it:
“Let me tell you why Openmind Technologies is a company that keeps an open mind.”
An inspiring leader: He’s 34, but when you hear him, you’ll think he has 1000 years worth of wisdom. He’s not like other people, because he believes that “people come first.” Don’t be surprised to see him sit in on your interview, and above all, don’t let that intimidate you. He just wants to get to know you better. Cool, right?
An accessible and dynamic management team: What would a great boss be without a team to support him? They’re young, committed, proactive, and above all, passionate. At Openmind, the strength of the team makes all the difference.
A company that innovates: If, like me, you can’t stand to hear “we’ve always done it like that, and we’ll keep it that way because it works…”, you’ll be happy to know that Openmind thinks outside the box #DaretoEvolve.
Values in action: Some write them in what they call an “employee manual,” others just add them to the “About Us” section on their website. I can tell you one thing: we live our values on a daily basis. I joined the team in full COVID times, and I have never stopped living the values since then, even remotely.
Projects that get done: we’ve all been there – a super inspiring meeting, where you write down 1000 cool ideas. Then, after a year, you realize that none of them has actually come to anything. Annoying, right? In our company, we prioritize, and above all, we act. It’s one of our major strengths.

Maybe you feel like you don’t have enough experience and that we’d never consider your resume, and if that’s the case, I BEG YOU, don’t set that barrier for yourself.
When I tell you that we have an open mind, it means that we’re NOT looking for employees who are outrageous or overqualified aliens.
We’re looking for HUMAN beings who want to be involved in and contribute to something bigger than themselves. We want to find untapped talent and people who have ideas and something to say. We’re looking for people who believe teamwork is essential.
In short, anyone who, like me, wants to be HAPPY!
To finish, I’m going to share a little secret with you, but don’t tell anyone:
I have a BA in physical education, I worked in sales for ¾ of my life, and in event-planning, and for just a little while in marketing.
I’ll admit to you in all honesty that my knees were shaking a bit when I decided to apply to Openmind Technologies, but you know what? It was the best decision I’ve ever made.
